The Theme Building @ the Los Angeles Airport

Here, as with other blogs, I will present a rough draft of observations and pictures, in this case regarding the Theme Building at LAX Airport, a one-time star of "Space Age Architecture" and its boldly optimistic feel.  A few years ago, in I believe 2007, I spent a semi-depressed night at LAX while waiting for a flight at the end of a few days in Los Angeles, partly right across the road from this landmark, but on a recent Southern CA. visit, my last day there gave me a leisurely eyeful of this airport centerpiece.

Here is the building from an approaching "flyaway" bus I took back to the airport from downtown LA:
and from a service road near the airport's Terminals 1 and 2:


In the view above, the Theme Building can be seen as graceful, while shortly thereafter, looking up from the roof, I thought the meeting point of what might be its two arched supports to be visually weak....
